Membership

Membership in the Canadian Evangelical Theological Association is available for the annual fee of $40.00 for individuals and institutions, and $20.00 for full-time students (with current student ID).

Membership runs for a calendar year (January to December) and includes a subscription to the Canadian Theological Review, which is the journal of the Canadian Evangelical Theological Association (currently two issues per year).

Members have discounted registration fees for the CETA annual Fall conference and for the CETA annual meeting at the Congress of Humanities and Social Sciences.

There are three ways to take out or renew a CETA membership:

You may mail a cheque with the filled-out CETA membership form to Shannon Baines (using the address on the membership form). You can use this form for new CETA memberships or for renewals.

For the other two payment methods you are still asked to fill out and send in the CETA membership for (either in hard copy or as an email attachment to Shannon Baines). That way we will have your contact information.

For those who don’t want to send a cheque, CETA can now accept membership payments by etransfer from Canadian bank accounts. Banks usually charge a fee for the transfer (often $1.50 per transfer). Please note that CETA will not reimburse these fees. Etransfers should be sent to the CETA treasurer, Shannon Baines, at: shannon.baines@sympatico.ca

CETA is now accepting membership payments by PayPal (this is especially helpful for those paying from the U.S.). PayPal charges 2.9% of the membership cost plus .30 per transaction. This works out to .88 extra for student membership and 1.46 extra for regular membership. Please note that CETA will not reimburse these fees.

Please choose from one of the two options below to make a PayPal payment.

  1. Is there a way to pay my dues from the US? How do I convert currency? Last time I sent a check, it was lost. Is there no way you can update your membership payment methods so people can pay online, such as via PAYPAL? That is what the CSBS has done. I’m reluctant to send another check and have it go uncashed and lost.
